So it’s 2021 and we are still pursuing our adoption. We are a waiting family, which means that our family profile is still being shown to birth mothers that are looking to make an adoption plan. The average waiting period prior to the pandemic was 12-18 months. We really didn’t think we would still be waiting this long, but everything that has happened over the last year has made some things harder and the waiting periods have extended a little longer. The waiting is not easy but all we can do is wait for Gods perfect timing.
While we wait we are still applying for additional grants to help us fund the remaining amount that will be due at the point of placement.
Towards the end of 2020 we were awarded a matching grant of $4000. This means that if we are able to raise $4000 from our community through the grant they will match it for a matched total of $8000.
